THE EFFECT OF ENRICHED TURKISH LANGUAGE ACTIVITIES ON SPOKEN LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT OF 4-YEAR-OLD CHILDREN
 
Language enables the child to fulfill many functions in his / her life besides communicating. It helps the development of memory and classification ability in cognitive processes, especially for the child to evaluate his / her behavior in the face of a difficult and new problem and to produce solutions with his own cultural values. Learning to understand, use, and have fun is the first step in literacy and is the foundation for learning to read and write. The language development of children who attend pre-school institutions is better than those who do not. New enriched applications are needed to contribute more to development. This study aims to examine the effect of the 4 year old enriched Turkish language activity program on the spoken language level of 4 year old children attending preschool institutions. In the 2019-2020 academic year, 16 children of 4 years old who attended the kindergarten in Selçuklu district of Konya were selected by random sampling model. Sample group; 8 experiments and 8 controls consisted of a total of 16 children. The method in the research is pre-test post-test experimental and control group experimental model. The "Basic School Skills Inventory" Spoken Language subtest was used as the data collection tool. The tests were applied to the children before and after the trial. Mann Whitney U and Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test were used to analyze the data obtained in the study. In the findings obtained, it was concluded that the difference between the pre-test and post-test mean scores of the "BSSI-3 subscale Spoken Language Scale" of the children of the experimental group and the control group was significant and that "Enriched Turkish language activities" positively affected the spoken languages of 4-year-olds.
